Bergen County Tax Appeals On The Decline

The record pace of appeals inundating tax boards in Bergen County and counties throughout New Jersey for the last few years has slowed significantly this year.

After back-to-back years that saw Bergen County’s tax appeals soar to their highest levels in 20 years, the numbers dropped to 6,679 in 2014 from more than 12,000 in 2012 and 2013, according to statistics recently released by the state Treasury Department.
